Allegations recently surfaced regarding a sexual assault by L.A. Kings player Drew Doughty. The 25-year-old woman who is making the claims said she met him at a bar. On their shared taxi ride home, she says that he raped her. Doughty is not denying that the two were sexually involved, but he is making the claim that the sex was consensual. Police are reporting that the woman is not being compliant with the investigation.

Now, the public is waiting to see whether or not charges are filed. This depends on the decision of the district attorney. Doughty is by far the highest paid player for the Kings, with an 8-year, $56 million contract. If the woman’s allegations are false, the case will be dropped. Not only this, but the woman may be facing legal trouble of her own. If she purposefully and knowingly made these sexual assault charges that she knew were false, then she may be facing a criminal charge herself.
